Founded in 1954 and incorporated in 1977, the Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals, Inc. is dedicated to improving the quality of medical care delivered to persons with spinal cord impairment. Spinal cord medicine is recognized as a discipline that encompasses many components of specialized care. In view of this diversity, one of the major functions of ASCIP is to foster the interchange of ideas in clinical and basic science.
