The ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI) is a non-profit biotechnology company. Founded in 1999, ALD TDI has an in-house laboratory facility dedicated to developing treatments for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is one of a group of diseases known as motor neuron diseases. It is characterized by progressive degeneration and eventual death of nerve cells in the brain, brainstem, and spinal cord. ALS TDI supplies information to patients, family members, health professionals, and the general public. This information is distributed through the companys newsletter, database, and reports.
